Export your Stocky data before the read-only window closes
Shopify discontinued Stocky on August 31, 2026. Shopify says you keep read-only access to export your data for at least 90 days after that date. Counting 90 days from August 31 gives November 29, 2026. That count is our arithmetic. Shopify's page gives the 90-day minimum and no end date, so plan to finish before November 29.
Some vendor pages say a limited group of merchants received an extension to March 2027. Shopify's page does not mention one, and we could not confirm it. Do not count on it.
Stock Perfect is a Shopify app in the same market, so we have an interest here. We link Shopify's own help pages so you can check every statement below.
What Shopify tells you to export
Shopify's Stocky transition page lists three things to export using Stocky's reports:
- all completed purchase order reports, as CSV files
- your stocktake history
- your historical cost data
What you cannot export
- Suppliers. Shopify's page says suppliers can't be exported from Stocky. Rebuild them yourself (see below).
- Reorder points, minimum and maximum levels, and forecast settings. Shopify's help pages document no export for these. Copy them by hand.
- Purchase order history into Shopify. Shopify says historical purchase orders can't be imported into Shopify. Its CSV upload for purchase orders only adds product line items to a new draft. It can't bring in past statuses, received quantities or supplier links.
The files to download
Follow Shopify's instructions for each one: Stocky report types, Stocky purchase orders and Stocky stocktakes. The table says what each file is for.
| File | Why keep it | Check after you download |
|---|---|---|
| Purchase Orders report, completed orders, CSV | Your order history: which supplier you ordered from and when. That is the raw material for working out how long each supplier takes. | Open it. If it has one row per order and no products, it can't show what you ordered, so also download the individual orders you care about. |
| Individual purchase orders, CSV | Product lines for the orders the report can't show. Stocky lets you download one order at a time as PDF, plain text, CSV or CSV for Dymo. | Pick CSV. Start with open orders and your last few completed orders for each supplier. |
| SKU/Variant report, CSV | Historical cost data. The report shows each variant's cost per unit, selling price and number of sales, and you can add columns. | Add every cost and supplier column the report offers. Two stores' files can differ, because you choose the columns. |
| Stocktake history, CSV | Shopify lists it. Each file has product name, SKU, barcode, Shopify ID, retail price, cost price, expected and actual stock, and adjustment totals and costs. | Confirm you have every stocktake you want to keep. |
| Low Stock reports (vendors, products, variants) | The reorder figures Stocky showed for each item. | If there is no download option, take screenshots. |
| Stock on hand, Adjustments, Transfers, Best sellers, ABC Analysis | Optional. Save any you use. | Check the date range on each. |
Also take screenshots of the settings that have no export: each vendor's lead and restock times, any per-variant overrides, reorder points, minimum and maximum levels, and your forecast settings.
Suppliers: rebuild them now
Stocky will not give you a supplier file. Start a spreadsheet while you can still see Stocky's vendor pages, with one row per supplier and these columns:
- supplier name, contact name, email and phone
- typical lead time in days
- minimum order quantity and case pack
- payment terms and notes
Your purchase order files show supplier names, which gives you a list to start from. Fill in lead times from the vendor settings you screenshotted, or from the dates on your orders.
Shopify's transition page suggests another home for this data: variant metafields or metaobjects for supplier details such as lead times, minimum order quantities and case packs. Use the spreadsheet, the metafields or both. What matters is having the data somewhere you control.
What to do with the files
- Make a folder with today's date and copy every file into it. Keep the originals untouched and work on copies.
- Open each file and check it. Compare the row counts with what Stocky shows on screen, and check the date range. Note any report that lacks the columns you need.
- Write down what is missing. Lead times and receipt dates are the usual gaps. You can work out lead times from order and delivery dates if both appear in your files.
- Back the folder up in two places.
- Treat the files as sensitive. They hold supplier names, your costs and your order history. Upload them only to tools you trust.
- Decide how you will place orders in the meantime. Shopify's page says its built-in purchase orders let you download an order as a PDF, and that you can't email a purchase order from the Shopify admin.
Stock Perfect and these files
We are rebuilding Stock Perfect, and the new version will import these files. It isn't available yet, and we are not promising a date. Questions: support@stockperfect.ai.
